Oh The Ideas
Yesterday's post was a quick snapshot of what has been rolling through my head the past few days... And, no those aren't honeymoon locations. We are talking wedding man! Some of the locations listed are ones I've been too: spent a summer doing field research in the Turks and Caicos, grew up in Boulder, spent lots of time camping in the Tetons and have lots of great experiences in Vermont. My family and some close friends have been to St. Lucia, Belize and Dominica, though I have never been.
So, what does all this mean?! Who knows. We have a small (really small) budget and think that something exotic and purely indulgent with 20-30 super close friends and family is how Scott and I would want to spend this amazing event.
Any takes? I'm pooped.
Oh, and the DB Pure Silk top is blocking! Woohoo! I'll be able to model it for you in the next couple of days!

Oh, wedding locations - now that is fun. Where can you pick that is fun and meaningful to you and not too financially stressful for you or for your 20-30 close friends/family?
i know it's cliche' but we got married in Las Vegas at the MGM
Grand..(it was so beautiful and tasteful). everyone in the family came (including kids) and friends too. We had about 30 people there... And all together with reception and honeymoon suite it was about 4 grand total...And I mean that was EVERYHING! Of course the guests paid for their own flight and rooms...We still talk about how neat our wedding was b/c everyone made it a vacation! so anywhere you choose will be memorable for your family...
PS all my sisters always tell me I had the best wedding ;)
So many choices! I'm sure whatever you guys choose will be beautiful!
Alright...if you come the whole way out to Colorado, then you need to do it in Lyons...just 20 mins from Boulder...at the Lionscrest Manor.... http://www.lionscrestmanor.com
This place is Incredible!!
Oh yeah...and I recommend A Spice of Life catering...they rock. BTW...did I mention I had my reception at this place and that particular caterer? ----walking away whistling innocently---- I can probably recommend a great DJ too!
That's a great idea for a wedding. My best friend had a destination wedding (in Lake Louise, Alberta) with 25-30 people and it was, hands down, the most memorable wedding I have ever attended.
What Chris said. Plan carefully and have a wedding planner in that location. The locations all sound great.
Hi! SpiderWomanKnits here :-)
My DH and I had a really small wedding in the Keys(14 people)and then had a huge party 6 months later at our home so our families could really get to know eachother without all the fuss of the traditional ceremony. So, I would vote for a small intimate ceremony An exotic location would make it even that much more special!
Congrats by the way :-)
My $.02. First consider what your heart says, then what part of the year the event takes place (rainy season, busy tourist season, time of the year (will it be near a holiday time?)). That info will determine a great deal about the prices. We had our wedding Nov 21 when all of our extended family could arrange to be together for an early Thanksgiving celebration and the weather wasn't too awful. How much time and effort will you want to spend on doing wedding crafts? Will you be making your wedding dress/head piece, wedding or reception decor? All takes time and planning. Anyway, good luck in the planning phase (it's pretty fun if not stressful:D)
We got married in St. Lucia. We wanted to elope, which we did, and it was the perfect spot for it. We stayed at Anse Chastanet, which was lovely. This was >10 years ago, so it may have changed, but I'd give it a look.
Congratulations! How exciting...
I vote for Belize, if only because its name oozes "exotic" =D
would you consider somewhere like dubai? and how small is very small for a budget?
